After an operating system re-install or recovery, many hardware devices such as the graphics card or network card will just not work. The reason for this is that the associated software to "drive" these devices is not present. The software required to interface with the hardware is known as a driver, hence the name driver, it is software that literally operates and interfaces with the hardware. This Acer® Aspire 3003 WLMi Boot Disk Is Compatible With All Operating Systems

This boot disk contains a built in operating system and requires nothing else to start up and get you into your hard disk drives. Even if your computer has a BSOD (Blue or Black Screen of Death) or an error like "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" this boot disk will start up and give you a Windows® like operating system to browse your hard disk drives. Even if your operating system is password protected this will still work. This data recovery boot disk also contains a data recovery program that was developed and written in house.
